The early bird catches the worm.

I just can’t wait for this years Semi-Permanent Conference. My early bird ticket arrived in the post yesterday. Yip yip! I’m most excited about paper sculpting extraordinaire Benja Harney. His creations are AWESOME! Bring it and bring it quick!

Plastique Magazine

Sexy Publishing

Loving the sexy, sophisticated style of London’s quarterly fashion magazine Plastique! Powerful fashion photography meets explosive typography. It’s all too inspiring!

Nice work by Studio 8, who are unfortunately ending their creative partnership. I’ll be following the foot steps of designers Matt Willey and Zoe Bather to see what they come up with next…

The Wish List

I want one.

Byroglyphics

Russ Mills has been a favourite illustrator of mine for quite a few years. I’ve had this print since 2008 and I’ve only recently had it framed an placed it on my wall.

I  love the energy and intensity of this piece. I was instantly drawn to the character, there is something passionate yet chaotic about her.

Blending traditional media and digital imaging, he describes the physical and emotional qualities of his subjects creating distorted, chaotic and wildly wonderful portraits.

The 20 Most Beautiful Bookstores in the World

I came across this blog post today and really wanted to share it!

It’s a celebration of the most beautiful bookshops from around the globe. Such inspirational spaces ranging from weird to jaw dropping all encourage their guests to browse, discover and get a little lost… It’s wonderful to see that places like these still exist, and that the internet (or specifically Amazon) hasn’t completely destroyed the beauty that is a local book shop.

My favourite is the awe inspiring Selexyz Bookstore in Maastricht, Holland (featured above). “A gorgeous converted Dominican church gives the power of reading its due diligence”.

I’m on the hunt for amazing bookstores in Australia now. Although, I fear my chances of finding one as special are slim to none…

G’n’T! It’s time to celebrate!

The moment has arrived for me to officially launch my website kellyorourkedesign.com

There’s a bunch of creative projects to check out ranging from brand identity, print, publishing and web design (to name a few) so please take a peek!

If there’s something that takes you fancy please let me know by making a comment!

I’ll be posting inspirational finds on my blog and updating my folio as frequently as possible so watch this space for fabulous things to come…

Happy days!

Kelly
